SHAKTI NIKETAN - "A Divine Home For Girls"

Time Table and Daily Practices
" I must govern the clock, not be governed by it "
Here the day begins at 4o'clock with the ‘Rajyoga meditation'. After the completion of the daily affairs of the Kumaris they attend the ‘Murli class’ at 6o'clock and then disperse to several schools and colleges for their academics.
After returning back from schools they take their food and rest for some time. These girls have regular time for self study in the evening. They devote this time for their homework, practice and revision which impacts them 100% results almost every year.
In order to make the residents expert in every aspect, the girls are imparted training in various departments of the institution like kitchen department, reception department, house keeping department etc.
All the duties are ascribed according to the chart fixed for the system to function smoothly. The young girls are given responsibilities to fulfill all the duties of maintenance of the entire system, may it be the decoration or cooking or any other area of need.
The girls are here taught various art forms like stitching, embroidery, knitting, interior decoration and hygiene maintenance and hospitality management for the guests. After completing the ascribed responsibilities well in time, the Celestial maidens are then collected in the hall for mass meditation session from 7 to 7.30pm.
Here everyone sits in deep remembrance of the almighty to gain his powers. 7.30 pm is the time to take the feedback of the day, where every individual is guided for the right and wrong behavior.

Such daily routine, spiritual bliss and disciplined activities which are all carried in remembrance of the Almighty are very helpful in moulding them into responsible and divine beings. It helps in shaping up their future and morality at it best. We lovingly call Shakti Niketan to be Mini Madhuban as it resembles Madhuban in all of its practices and activities. One can feel peace and purity similar to the environment of Madhuban. The inhabitants of Shakti Niketan are always aware of their disciplined duties. They execute their duties as if they are under spiritual military order and that too with all politeness and humility. They have to participate and devote at least 1 hour daily such as attending kitchen, cooking, washing, cleaning utensils etc. and thus they feel honor in being instrumental to shine the hostel premises as they think it is not only a residential hostel but is a temple of Lord Shiva.
